Marschall, Cook, Shulman Accept Prestigious Honors
Senior forward Susan Marschall was awarded the Aldo “Buff” Donelli Leadership Award at the BU Hall of Fame Banquet Saturday, Jan. 21. The “Buff” Donelli Award, is presented to a senior who has demonstrated outstanding leadership both on and off the field. Marschall was a tri-captain for the Terriers last season and she helped lead them to the America East regular-season and tournament titles as well as the second round of the NCAA Tournament. She was also named Most Outstanding Player of the 2005 America East Tournament. Her personality, maturity and community involvement, coupled with her passion for the game, made her an outstanding leader on the field and off. ********** Senior forward Meghann Cook picked up her All-America award at the NSCAA All America Banquet in Philadelphia on Saturday, Jan. 21. Comedian Jon Stewart was the featured speaker at the event. Cook was named second team All-America, just the third Terrier to be so honored nationally. She led BU with 25 points in 2005 and was named the America East Striker of the Year. She ended her career as the school record holder for career assists and finished second all-time in points scored. “It is great to see Meghann honored with this very prestigious award,” said Feldman. “Meghann has made significant contributions to the Terrier soccer program. Anyone who had an opportunity to see us play over the last few years recognizes the technical flair and attacking prowess that were her gifts, and what she meant to the Terrier team.” ****************** Senior forward Melissa Shulman was named to the Jewish Sports Review 2005 Women's Soccer All-America team. It marks the third time in her career Shulman has received this honor (2001, 2003, 2005). Shulman finished second on the team with 18 points (8 goals, 2 assists) and was named second team all America East. She finished her career ranked second all-time at BU with 33 goals and third with 79 career points.
