Women's Golf Leads After Day One of America East Championships



BOLTON, Mass. – The Terriers had five of the top seven finishers, as the Boston University women’s golf team vaulted to a 19-shot lead after day one of the America East Championships Monday afternoon. The Terriers carded a 363 (+75) at the International, 19 strokes better than Hartford and 20 better than Albany.

Diedre Hatfield is the individual leader with an 87 (+15). She had a tournament-best eight pars on the day. Teammate Allison Hamilton is fourth at 91 (+19), while Laura Stong is fifth at 92 (+20). Stong had one of two birdies in the entire round Monday. Hannah Barry and Haley Goucher are each tied for sixth at 93 (+21).

The America East Championships conclude Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.
