Gametracker

Home, Sweet Home: Boston University will face one of its sternest tests of the season on Wednesday when it welcomes No. 9 Connecticut to Jack Barry Field for a 3 p.m. contest. One of just six Division I teams to be undefeated at home this season, the Terriers are a perfect 6-0 at Jack Barry Field and have outscored their opponents 24-2 in those contests. BU is 14-1 in its last 15 games at Jack Barry Field.

Series History: UConn holds an 18-7 advantage in the all-time series, including wins in the past three meetings. The Terriers last defeated the Huskies during the 2002 campaign with a 5-3 home victory. Each of the last two contests between the regional rivals has been a one-goal victory for UConn, including a 5-4 overtime decision last season in Storrs.

Scouting the Huskies: UConn enters today’s contest on a roll, having won its past nine contests. The Huskies have recorded five shutouts during the stretch including a 4-0 blanking of Rutgers in their most recent outing on Oct. 14. UConn is 3-1 against ranked opponents this season, including triumphs over Michigan, Louisville and California, and its only setbacks this fall have come at the hands of Villanova and Penn State. Junior Lizzy Peijs leads the Huskies in both goals (15) and points (35), while sophomore Lauren Aird completes a potent 1-2 scoring punch, having tallied 34 points on the year. Aird and classmate Jennifer Kleinhans have each earned a team-best six assists. Freshman goalkeeper Andrea Mainiero has made an immediate impact, as her goals against average of 0.96 ranks fourth in the country.

America East Update: After three rounds of conference play, Albany is in first place in the league standings with a perfect 3-0 record. BU, Maine and Vermont are in a three-way tie for second place at 2-1, while UMBC and UNH are both 0-3.

Balanced Attack: Remarkably, 14 different Terriers have scored at least one goal this season, establishing a new program record. Sophomore Lizzie Perreault and senior Erin Calamari each registered their first goal of the season in Sunday's 6-1 triumph over Yale.

Up Next: The Terriers will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 21, when they visit Albany in a battle for first place in the America East standings. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
