Sophomore Jane Rogers (2 goals and 2 assists) highlights eight Terriers with multi-point efforts BOSTON, MA (September 29) - Sophomore forward Jane Rogers (Watertown, MA) scored a career-high two goals and added two assists and Boston University tied a team record for most goals scored in a game with 11, as the No. 14 ranked Terriers (7-1, 4-0), downed the University of Vermont (0-8, 0-1),11-0, in America East field hockey play this evening at Nickerson Field.

Boston University sophomore forward Felicia Cappabianca (North Caldwell, NJ) wasted no time in getting her team on the scoreboard as she netted the first of her two goals on the night at 33:15 of the first half from Rogers. Ten minutes later, senior co-captain Tina McDavitt (Walpole, MA) added a score from sophomore Kerry Carney (Yorktown Heights, NY) and senior forward Jaclyn Mele (Fairfield, NJ) at 23:28.

At 5:55, sophomore forward Rachael Stillings (Escondido, CA) connected on her first collegiate goal from Carney and Mele to push the B.U. lead to 3-0.

Rogers tallied at 1:35 from Cappabianca, and Cappabianca scored her second goal of the half from senior forward Danielle DeCoste (Fall River, MA) at :25, giving the Terriers a commanding 5-0 hafltime lead.

In the second half, Rogers continued her assault on the cage with a score at 27:26 from DeCoste. At 23:07, this week's America East Rookie of the Week Angela Jamieson scored her fifth goal of the season form McDavitt pushing the B.U, lead to 7-0.

Junior midfielder Robyn Kenney (Whitehouse Station, NJ) scored her first collegiate goal at 17:05 from McDavitt. Kenney had played 45 career games without finding the back of the cage. Jamieson added her second consecutive multi-goal game with her tally at 13:20 from Rogers to give the Terriers a 9-0 advantage.

The Terriers final two goals on the evening were scored by junior Kelly Clothier (Philadelphia, PA) and sophomroe forward Suzanne Carlson (Manasquan, NJ). It was the first career goal scored for both players.

Vermont goalies Holly Colberg (Mohegan Lake, NY) and Allyson McGraw (Clifton Park, NY) led the Catamounts with 10 and 5 saves respectively.

B.U. used a trio of goalies with senior Noreen Flanagan (Red Bank, NJ) starting the game and being replaced by sophomore Susan Harrington (Tuftonboro, NH) with just over five minutes to play in the first half. Sophomore Donna Wilkinson (Marlton, NJ) played the final five and half minutes of the game for the Terriers.

The Terriers outshot the Catamounts,26-1, and held the advantage in penalty corner situations,15-1 .

B.U. is now 18-1 all-time versus Vermont.

The Terriers return to the field on Saturday, October 2, when they travel to Norfolk, VA to play the No. 6 Lady Monarchs of Old Dominion at 2 p.m.

GAME NOTES: The Terriers are 7-1 for the first time since the 1996 season when the team finished 17-5-0...Senior forward Danielle DeCoste's moved into 11th place tie on the Terriers all-time scoring list with (19 goals-17 assists-55 points); senior co-captain Tina McDavitt (18-14-50) moves one place ahead off teammate Kate Cusick (20-9-49) into 13th place on the Terriers all-time scoring list..Fourteen different Terriers have notched at least one point this season... B.U has outshot opponents 178-62 this season and are 6-0 when leading at the half.
