BOSTON - Graduating senior Susan Harrington (Tuftonboro, N. H.) was voted as the Boston University field hockey team's Most Valuable Player at the Terriers' post-season banquet on Saturday, April 27. Freshman Emma Mitchell (Mountain Lakes, N. J.) was named the team's Most Improved Player, while freshman Erin Calamari (Chester, Conn.) was recognized as the Spirit Award recipient.
The only senior on the Terriers' field hockey team last fall, Harrington was the team's goalkeeper for all but 43 minutes, 11 seconds and compiled an 11-10-0 mark. She posted a career-best 1.33 goals against average along with personal bests .808 save percentage and 4.5 shutouts.
It was the second straight team MVP award for Harrington, who shared the honor with teammate Casey Holman in 2001.
Neither Mitchell nor Calamari played in 2002, as each redshirted the season.
