Boston University Inks Six Field Hockey Recruits For 2000 Season

Boston, MA - Boston University head field hockey coach Sally Starr announced the signing of six freshman recruits for the 2000 season on February 3.

The recruiting class consists of three midfield/forwards, two midfield/backs, and a goalkeeper. Lindsey Domers (Voorhees, NJ/ Eastern H.S.), Whitney Peabody (Hamilton, MA/Wenham H.S.) and Jenna Clough (Portsmouth, NH/Portsmouth H.S.) will play forward for the Terriers while Erin Burke-Webster (Rochester, NY/ Brighton H.S.) and Celeste Hubbard (Detroit, MI/University Liggett H.S.) will add depth to the mid-back position. Jodie Gardner (Unionville, CT/Farmington, CT) will join B.U.'s goalkeeping corp.

"This is a talented class, athletically," said Starr, who will enter her 20th year as head coach for the Terriers. "They will serve as a strong foundation for Boston University success, and all will have the opportunity to compete for a spot in the starting lineup in the fall."

The Terriers finished the 1999 season as America East champions, with a 17-6 overall record, and an undefeated 8-0 conference mark. Starr guided the Terriers to their sixth NCAA Tournament appearance, but the team bowed out in the first round in a 2-1 overtime loss against the University of Massachusetts.
