BOSTON - Thirteen members of the Boston University field hockey team were named to the America East Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll in recognition of earning grade-point averages of 3.0 or higher during the 2004 fall season. Among those, senior Lauren Vendetti (Ashland, Mass.) earned a spot on the conference's Commissioner's Honor Roll, recognizing a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

In all, 60 Terrier student-athletes earned a spot on the team. Only the Terrier women's cross country team had more student-athletes on the Honor Roll with 15 earning honor roll status, including five that were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll. Also with representatives were women's soccer (12), men's cross country (11), and men's soccer (9).

For Vendetti, it marks the fourth time in her four years at B.U. she made the conference Honor Roll. She is one of only six Terriers to do so. The others were Lindsey Domers '04, Danielle DaCosta '99, Monica Dorley '95, Heather Gordon '97, and Jayne Reino '97.

The Terriers' other student-athletes who have earned the award multiple times are juniors Amy Seaman (Camp Hill, Pa.) and Erin Calamari (Chester, Conn.), who have made it in each of their first three years. In addition, senior Adrienne Scibilia (Ringoes, N.J.) and junior Colleen McClay (Mahopac, N.Y.) were both honored in 2003 and 2004.

Five freshmen also made the list.

This season, B.U. brought a young team to the field but finished with a 13-7 record, making its first America East championship game appearance since 2000. The Terriers fell to Northeastern, 2-0, in the final. They finished 19th in the final NFHCA Division I national poll.
