Norris Honored As America East Rookie of the Week

BOSTON - Freshman forward Adrienne Norris (Delafield, WI) was named the Spalding Rookie of the Week by the America East today after averaging 14.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in the Terriers' two wins over conference foes Albany and Binghamton last week.

Norris scored 16 points and had a team-high eight rebounds in the Terriers' 77-71 win over the Great Danes on Jan. 24. It was the first overtime win for B.U. in three seasons.

Against league leader Binghamton on Jan. 26, the 6-foot-1 forward scored 13 points, connecting on 7-of-9 from the free throw line, and had seven rebounds as the Terriers snapped the Bearcats' five-game winning streak with a 62-54 victory at home.

Since the start of conference play, Norris has averaged 11.8 points and 7.5 rebounds against league opponents, scoring in double figures five of seven league games.

Among the America East leaders, Norris ranks 10th in rebounding (6.4 rpg) and is tied for 14th in blocked shots (0.61 bpg).

On the season, Norris leads the team in rebounds and is fourth in scoring with 7.8 points per game.

Norris and the rest of the Terriers look to extend their conference winning streak to four games when they travel to Hartford on Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 7 p.m.
