BOSTON - After placing 29th at last year’s New England Championships, the Boston University men’s indoor track and field team showed an immense turnaround, finishing 16th through the final day of competition at the Track and Tennis Center. The team was led by freshman Mac-Alen Gerard who placed fourth in the triple jump.

Gerard beat out 19 other competitors with his leap of 14.26 meters, earning five of BU’s nine total points with his jump.

In the 4x800-meter relay, the team of freshmen David Polgar and Eric Ashe, junior David Proctor and senior Nick Goodman earned a fifth-place finish with a time of 7:38.27. The high placement earned BU their four other points.

The team now turns its focus towards the ECAC/IC4A Championships held next weekend at the Track and Tennis Center.
