Men's Soccer Downs Drexel In Overtime Behind Kaland's Two Goals



Captain Joachim Kaland scored both goals in the Terriers' 2-1 win OT win over Drexel

Senior Joachim Kaland (Fonnes, Norway) scored a pair of goals, the second coming five minutes into overtime, to lead the Terrier men's soccer team to a 2-1 win host Drexel in America East men's soccer action on Sunday (October 7th).

The win improved the Terriers' overall record to 6-4-0 while they are 2-1-0 in the league.

Kaland was set up on his game-winning goal by freshman Federico Bianchi (Pacific Palisades, CA), who passed the ball to Kaland. The Terrier captain sent the Terriers home a winner when he responded with a shot that beat Drexel goalie Jim Greco.

With his team trailing 1-0 at the half, Kaland tied the game with just 4:30 left in regulation. Sophomore Bjorn Jacobson (Palisades, CA) earned an assist on the game-tying goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Zak Thompson (Silver Spring, MD) earned improved his season record to 2-1-0 as he had 10 saves.
