Terriers Record Scoreless Draw Against New Hampshire

BOSTON - The Boston University men's soccer team (9-5-3, 3-1-3 America East) played through two overtimes but came up empty as the Terriers tied New Hampshire (5-4-6, 2-1-4 AE), 0-0, Wednesday night on Nickerson Field. With the tie, BU extends its unbeaten streak to seven games.

Earning a point with the tie, Boston University takes a share of first place in the America East with Binghamton with one game left to play. Boston U and Binghamton lead Vermont by one point.

The Terriers nearly got on the board in the 40th minute when sophomore Andrej Bjegovic's (St. Germain en Laye, France) header hit the crossbar. The teams went back and forth for the rest of the half, but neither squad could capitalize. UNH began the second half with a flurry of offense; however, the Terriers stood up on defense.

BU controlled the offense in the overtime periods but could must just three shots. The Terriers out-shot the Wildcats 12-6 for the game, and UNH held a slim 6-5 lead in corner kicks. Wildcat goalie Mike Jenne made seven saves, while sophomore Hrafn Davidsson (Reykjavik, Iceland) stopped two shots on goal.

BU closes the regular season with a trip to Burlington, Vt. to face the University of Vermont on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 1 p.m.
