The Terriers won this year’s regular-season series versus the Eagles by a 2-1 count, then posted a third win in the Beanpot championship game on Feb. 13. The overall series stands at 117-99-15 (.539) in favor of BU. The Terriers are unbeaten in 21 of the last 23 games (19-2-2), including the last eight straight 19 of the last 20. Further, BU is on a five-game win streak and is ranking third and fourth in the national polls. After going 5-7-2 early on, BU finished the regular season on a 16-2-2 run. The Terriers have played in the title game on seven occasions, and have come out the champion five times (1986, 1991, 1994, 1995 and 1997). BU’s last title match was versus UNH in 2003, when the Terriers fell 1-0 in overtime. Prior to that, BU’s last championship game was on March 15, 1997, also against UNH (BU 4, UNH 2).
