BOSTON - The No. 5 Terriers (18-8-2, 14-6-1 HE) will look for their 12th-straight victory in the first half of a home-and-home series with the No. 17 University of New Hampshire (15-10-5, 11-6-4 HE) on Friday night at Agganis Arena. The teams met once earlier in the season at Agganis, when UNH skated to a 3-2 win on Nov. 11. The final game of the season series will then take place on Saturday night at the Whittemore Center. The last two seasons have seen series ties between the Wildcats and Terriers (1-1-1). BU is coming off a Beanpot championship victory versus BC for the Terriers’ 11th-straight win, while UNH is coming off a tie with Merrimack and is 2-3-1 in its last six outings. The Terriers and Wildcats have played 142 times since the 1924-25 season, and BU holds a decided advantage, 88-38-16 (.676). In league play, the Terriers are 37-17-11 (.654), and the two teams have played to series ties (1-1-1) the last two years. Twenty-seven of the previous 142 games have gone into overtime, and the Terriers hold a slight edge, 8-6-13 (.537). UNH is 7-2-2 in the last 11 meetings. There have been 14 shutouts in the 142-game series history. The Terriers have eight of the 14, although the Wildcats have posted the last five shutouts. The Terriers and the Wildcats have only faced off twice at Agganis Arena, with the two teams playing to a 4-4 overtime tie on March 3, 2005, then UNH skating to a 3-2 victory on Nov. 11, 2005.
