No. 13 Men's Crew Wins Arlett Cup for First Time in Seven Years
BOSTON - The No. 13 Boston University men's crew team won the Arlett Cup for the first time in seven years Saturday morning on the Charles River. The Terriers' varsity eight finished the course 13 seconds ahead of No. 9 Northeastern. BU and NU battled through rough water over the first 1000m and strong winds all along the course. The two boats were neck-and-neck until the Huskies made a push around 650m to take nearly a length lead over BU. But the Terriers did not relent and countered with a move of their own at 1200m to take a length lead that they extended to open water by the time NU caught a crab and was forced to stop. BU crossed the line in a time of 6:43.41 to NU's 6:56.01. The second freshman four also earned a come-from-behind victory against Northeastern. NU claimed first place in the JV eight as well as the freshman eight. RESULTS JV 8 2nd Freshman 4+
