Neither team was able to open up a significant advantage, as the lead bounced back and forth between the two squads. Canada took an early 23-18 lead in the first quarter, but Korea responded to tie the game at 23 in the second quarter. The two sides traded buckets, and neither was able to build a lead larger than three points. Korea came out of the break leading, 48-45, and found its touch, stretching to a nine-point advantage in the third quarter. However, Canada's Kai Williams scored 11 points in the last 10 minutes, and the Canadians out-scored the Koreans 29-16 in the final frame to break open what had been a tight contest.
