Offensive Player of the Week
Jenny Dunn, Northwestern
SO, F, Pacific Palisades, Calif./Louisville

Dunn claimed the first weekly honor for Northwestern this season after scoring three goals on the weekend. In Friday's victory over Northern Illinois, the sophomore forward tallied the first goal of the game and of the weekend as the Wildcats downed the Huskies, 3-1. Dunn continued her stellar performance on Sunday, breaking a 1-1 tie and adding another goal to NU's 5-1 win against Western Michigan. She has now scored four goals thus far and sits only two shy of her career-high six that she set as a freshman in 2005.

Defensive Player of the Week
Nicole Galas, Michigan State
JR, GK, Sterling Heights, Mich./Biship Foley

Galas has been named Defensive Player of the Week for the first time this season after recording 14 saves and leading Michigan State to a 2-0-1 record last week. The junior's two shutouts against Detroit and Eastern Michigan moved her into third place on the Spartans' career shutouts list. In 290 total minutes of play, the Sterling Heights, Mich., native recorded a 0.31 goals-against average and allowed only one goal, coming from defending MAC Champion Bowling Green. Galas is the second Spartan to earn weekly laurels this season as freshman Lauren Hill brought home the first honor of the 2006 campaign on Aug. 28.
