Dec. 10, 2007

Allyssa DeHaan, MSU
So., C, 6-9, Grandville, Mich./Grandville
DeHaan led Michigan State as the Spartans handed Indiana State its worst home loss in five years with an 83-58 victory on Saturday. The sophomore netted 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting while pulling down 10 rebounds and blocking eight shots. The 6-9 center has blocked eight or more shots seven times in her career and is just one swat shy of tying MSU's all-time blocks record of 194, set by Kristen Rasmussen from 1997-2000. Against the Sycamores, DeHaan was also a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line and tied her career high with five assists. The award is the fourth of DeHaan's career and her second this season as she was named Co-Player of the Week on Dec. 3.
