Nov. 17, 2001 BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - After an upset loss to arch-rival Toledo on Saturday evening, the Bowling Green volleyball team received some good news. Kent State, whom the Falcons defeated Friday (Nov. 16) in five games, posted a five-game win over Akron, making Bowling Green the outright MAC East Division champions. The Falcons (20-7 overall, 12-6 MAC) finished a game ahead of both UA and Miami, and earn second seed for the MAC Tournament. BGSU will host a MAC Tournament quarterfinal match against seventh-seeded Western Michigan Tuesday (Nov. 20). WMU is coming off two big wins on the weekend, having defeated Ball State Friday (Nov. 16) and Northern Illinois on Saturday (Nov. 17). The BGSU-WMU match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Anderson Arena, with the winner advancing to Friday's (Nov. 23) semifinal round. The semifinals and championship will be held at the site of the highest remaining seed after Tuesday's quarterfinal round.
