Volleyball Cracks Regional Rankings

Oct. 12, 2004

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - On the strength of their 11-7 start and 4-2 conference record, the BGSU volleyball team has cracked the Mideast Regional Rankings, compiled by richkern.com and the American Volleyball Coaches of Association (AVCA). The Falcons are ranked 14th in the Region.

The RichKern.com/AVCA Division I Region Ranking takes into consideration the Rich Kern Percentage Index (RKPI) of all Division I teams, then ranks each region based on the overall ranking. The RKPI mimics the NCAA RPI published at the end of the season.

These rankings are not associated with the official NCAA Division I Regional Rankings, but are provided to give schools input as to how they may be ranked within the region using a computerized formula similar to the NCAA. Teams are placed into regions based on the latest NCAA on-line database

Mideast Region (Overall RKPI)
1. Minnesota (1) 2. Ohio State (6) 3. Penn State (10) 4. Wisconsin (15) 5. Michigan (18) 6. Illinois (21) 7. Purdue (31) 8. Michigan State (37) 9. Ohio (41) 10. Ball State (52) 11. Western Michigan (54) 12. Northwestern (61) 13. Marshall (78) 14. Bowling Green (103) 15. IPFW (109)
