Huskies Defeat Falcon Volleyball, 3-0

The BGSU Volleyball team lost its fifth Mid-American Conference contest Sunday (Oct. 6) afternoon at Anderson Arena. The Falcons fell to the defending MAC Champions, Northern Illinois, in three straight games, 21-30, 27-30, 28-30. BG is now 0-5 in the MAC and 5-12 overall while the Huskies improve to 3-1 and 10-5 on the year.

Leading BG was senior Kristin Gamby who put away 13 kills on 31 attempts to hit an impressive .355 for the day. Gamby also led the squad defensively at the net with two blocks. Junior Susie Norris added nine kills and led the team in the backcourt with 10 digs. Sophomore Bridget Protas tallied eight kills while fellow classmate Amber Mareski dished out 31 assists.

As a team, BG posted 45 kills on 122 total attempts to hit a .221. The Falcons dug 41 balls to NIU's 49 and blocked 4 balls to the Huskie's 6.

Bowling Green returns to homecourt action Friday, October 11, and will face eastern division foe Ohio University.
