Falcons Place Third At McDonald's Invitational

Athens, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University Track squad placed third at the McDonald's Invitational, hosted by Ohio University. The Falcons had a team total 137 points, which trailed only the University of Buffalo (178) and Ohio University (153). The Falcons were one of eight teams competing.

Junior Alicia Taylor placed second in both the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.16 seconds as well as the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.64 seconds. Taylor was also a member of the 4 x 100-meter relay team that placed first with a time of 47.91

In the distance events the Falcons were led by Amber Culp, who placed first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:11.24. Nikki Suitor placed fourth in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:56.56. Leslie Carden was the top Falcon in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:42.64.

Rachel Perme captured first-place in the high jump with a mark of 5-01, to score 10 points for the Falcon squad.

In the throws, Brooke Allen placed first in the javelin throw with a mark of 123-07. Kerri McClung placed fourth in the hammer throw with a distance of 153-04 and third in the shot put with a mark of 43-1.50.

Due to a computer problem, complete results are not yet available.

Up next for the Falcons is a trip to Columbus, Ohio where they will compete in the All-Ohio Championships on April 12.
