Keating Leads Falcons' Scoring in Close One in Muncie

Nov. 11, 2005

Final Stats

MUNCIE, Ind. - Caroline Keating's quick finishes in the 200 and 500 Freestyle events toped the Falcons in their 195-105 loss to the Cardinals of Ball State University. Keating also recorded a third place finish in the 100 Free.

Dana Schultz continued her conference dominance of the 200 Butterfly recording her third straight win in the event. The senior lost her first MAC 100 Fly race by thirteen-tenths of a second to BSU's Erin Johnson.

Both Keating and Schultz, along with Jessica Guinness and Stephanie Buckner, were members of the second place 400 Free relay which, to date, has never placed lower than second in league competition.

Senior Kara Ohngren took the top honors in the 1000 Free with a time of 10:30.30 edging out BSU's Meghan Patterson's 10:30:31. Ohngren brought home a second in the 100 Breast and was a member of the 400 Medley relay. Ohngren, Schultz, Buckner and Alisha Yee placed second in 4:00.01.

Seven of sixteen events winners were decided by less than one second.

The Orange and Brown will have three weeks to prepare for the Ohio State Invitational which will run December 2-4 in Columbus, Ohio. Times and a schedule of events have yet to be announced.
