Falcon Relays Post Strong Showing in Cincinnati

Oct. 23, 2006

Final Stats

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The BGSU Falcon relays once again gave a powerful relay outing against Xavier and the University of Cincinnati.

The Orange and Brown traveled south for Saturday's festivities in the Grand Opening Relays as the UC Bearcats dedicated their new aquatics center in the name Falcon senior Caroline Keating's grandfather, Bill Keating, Sr.

The Falcons earned first place finishes in the 150 Breast (1:35.46) and 500 Free (4:41.66).

Freshman Meg Richardson joined veterans Christine Vaca and Kim Albin to edge out the Bearcat `A' trio's 1:36.14 second place finish in the 150 Breast relay.

Richardson was later joined by fellow newcomer Frankie Houck, Jennifer Wright and Keating to dominate the 500 Free relay. The Falcons finished almost a full seven minutes before any other competing team. Once again UC took second with a final time of 4:48.44.

BGSU also recorded six additional second places times. Xavier did not finish in the first or second positions in any relay events.

The Falcons will begin their conference journey on Friday at rival Toledo. The evening meet will begin at 5:00 p.m. The following day, the Orange and Brown will face the defending MAC tournament champions, Eastern Michigan in Ypsilanti. Saturday's meet is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
