BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University softball program will offer a number of summer clinics from July 10-12. The Falcons will hold four sessions at the BGSU Softball Field, covering hitting, pitching, defensive fundamentals and positional play.

Falcon head coach Leigh Ross, assistant coach Kyle Jamieson and a number of current and former BGSU players will be on hand at the sessions. Each session serves its own purpose, so girls interested in participating in multiple sessions are more than welcome to do so.

Ross, Jamieson and the Falcons will offer a clinic on defensive fundamentals on Monday, July 10, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. This clinic, for girls in grades 3-8, will cover the areas of basic throwing and fielding with some position play.

That afternoon, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., a clinic on position play will be offered, covering advanced throwing and fielding with emphasis on position play.

On Tuesday, July 11, a hitting clinic will be held for all ages from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The clinic, featuring head coach Ross, will offer a breakdown of hitting mechanics and drills designed to increase offensive consistency and power.

On Wednesday, July 12, assistant coach Jamieson will be featured at the pitching clinic, which also is open to girls of all ages. This clinic, which runs from 9:00 a.m. to noon, will offer personal instruction, demonstrations and drills, all designed to teach and develop proper pitching mechanics. (NOTE: Pitchers must bring their own catcher.)

The cost of each clinic is $60. Interested parties can sign up by printing and completing the attached pdf registration form. The deadline for registration is July 6.
