Gymnastics Announces New Signees

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University gymnastics program has signed two student -athletes to National Letters of Intent, head coach Dan Connelly has announced. Amber Brewer (Kettering, Ohio/Kettering Fairmont) and Morgan Balzer (Huntington, NY/Huntington) will join the Falcons for the 2006-07 academic year.

Brewer is currently a senior at Kettering Fairmont H.S. in Kettering, Ohio. She was a Level 10 Regional Qualifier in the spring of 2005. She is on the Stars Gymnastics club team out of Dayton, Ohio. Brewer is also a member of the National Honors Society.

Balzer is currently a senior at Huntington H.S. in Huntington, NY. She qualified to the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic National Championships in 2002 and 2004, and made it to the National level in 2002 and 2004. She also was a Level 10 Regional Qualifier in the spring of 2005. Balzer has a high school cumulative GPA of 96 percent.

The Falcons finished the 2005 season with an overall record of 7-11, and finished 4th in the MAC Championships. The Falcons will look to improve their record this year as they return 18 of 21 gymnasts.
