Popovich Grabs MAC Gymnast Of The Week Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio - For the fourth time this season, a MAC best, senior Melissa Popovich has been named Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week. She recorded a career-high 39.525 in the all-around, the second best mark in school history, in her final home meet of her BGSU career. She also placed first on the floor (9.925), second on bars (9.9) and beam (9.85) and third on vault (9.85). Popovich's performance helped post the second largest score (195.900) in BGSU history.

The Medina, Ohio, native previously recorded MAC Gymnast of the Week honors for three consecutive week's back on January 18 and 26, and February 2.

Popovich ranks second in the MAC on vault (9.9), third in all-around (39.525), fourth on bars (9.900), fifth on floor (9.950) and seventh on beam (9.925).

Popovich and the Falcons return to action this Saturday when they travel to face West Virginia at 7:00 p.m., before heading to Central Michigan for the MAC Championships on March 19.
