Undefeated Gymnasts Face Western Michigan

Feb. 21, 2002

The Bowling Green Women's Gymnastics team has been having a record-breaking season in 2002. The Falcons are currently 13-1 overall and, after last weekend's victories over Kent State and Northern Illinois, are 4-0 and in first place in the Mid-American Conference. BG overtook Kent State's place atop the league last Sunday at the All-Ohio Championships with wins over the Golden Flashes and Ohio State.

This Weekend

The Falcon women will look to remain undefeated in the MAC as they face Western Michigan in Kalamazoo, Michigan on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Broncos are 3-11 overall and 1-6 in the conference. BG holds a 19-5-1 record over WMU going into this weekend's meet. The Falcons were victorious in 2001, beating Western 195.000 to 191.950.

Nationally Ranked

The Falcon Gymnastics squad is currently ranked among the best in the nation, both in team scores and in indivdual points. BGSU is 16th in the nation in the uneven bars while senior phenom Marny Oestreng is 25th in the country in the all-around event.
