Women's Basketball Staff Released

March 7, 2001

Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University director of athletics Paul Krebs has terminated the contract of Falcon head women's basketball coach Dee Knoblauch and informed assistant coaches Michelle Bohan and Shonda Stampley that their contracts will not be renewed. A national search for a new head coach will begin immediately.

"I believe that a change of leadership is necessary for the Bowling Green State University women's basketball program," said Krebs.

In three years as the BGSU head coach, Knoblauch had a record of 35-49.

Knoblauch, a former Falcon player, came to BGSU in 1998 from Mount Union College where she spent 11 seasons as the head coach at MUC. Bohan, a former player for Knoblauch at MUC, has been her top assistant for nine seasons and Stampley recently completed her second year at BGSU.
