Cincinnati, Ohio - Freshman Jon Hundley scored his first collegiate goal and seniors Ben Vaccaro and Detrick Matthews followed his lead to help the Bowling Green State University men's soccer team jump out to a 3-0 lead and go on to defeat the University of Cincinnati, 3-1, on Wednesday night.

Hundley, appearing in his eighth game for the Falcons, headed in BGSU's first goal of the game off of a free kick. The goal came at 52:33 and gave the visitors a 1-0 lead. Vaccaro then followed with his first goal of the season in the 60th minute for a 2-0 BGSU advantage. Matthews put the game out of reach at 72:11 with his second goal of the season with an assist from Damion Bennett.

Cincinnati (3-6-3) got on the scoreboard at 86:51 with a goal by Scott Lyons.

BGSU outshot the Bearcats 9-8, with seven of those coming in the second half. Falcon goalie David DeGraff faced just three shots on goal, making two saves and allowing Lyons' one goal.

BGSU (5-5-1 overall) returns to Cochrane Field on Friday, Oct. 19, when they host Ohio Wesleyan. Kick-off is set for 4 p.m.
