BGSU Defeats Buffalo in Double Overtime, 1-0

Buffalo, N.Y. - On a blustery night in Buffalo, Bowling Green redshirt-junior P.J. Behan ended the second overtime and game with the only goal of the match (102:35) to defeat the host Bulls, 1-0. Behan knocked in the game-winner past UB goalie Chris Vavrina in a scramble in front of the net.

Vavrina had turned away 10 Falcon shots-on-goal prior to the Behan goal, his first of the season. On the other end of the field, senior David DeGraff recorded his third shutout of the season and 16th of his career by stopping four UB shot attempts.

Behan led the Falcon attack with five shots while sophomore Ben Monnette had four shots. BGSU finished with a 19-12 advantage in total shots and a 11-7 edge in corner kicks.

BGSU improves to 3-4-2 overall and 1-1-0 in the MAC while Buffalo drops to 1-7-3 overall and 0-2-0 in he MAC. The Falcons return home Sunday, Oct. 5, for a 2 p.m. contest against Mid-American Conference rival Kentucky.
