Former Falcons In Quest for Stanley Cup

May 27, 2003

Bowling Green, Ohio - Former Bowling Green State University hockey players Dan Bylsma and Todd Reirden begin their quest for the National Hockey League's Stanley Cup tonight when their Anaheim Mighty Ducks take on the New Jersey Devils. Bylsma played at BGSU from 1988-92 while Reirden was a Falcon from 1990-94.

Bylsma is in his third year with the Ducks after signing as a free agent in 2000. The Grand Haven, Mich. native has tallied one assist in four playoff games this year. During the regular season, Bylsma (forward) appeared in 39 games with one goal and four assists. Reirden was signed as a free agent last season by the Ducks. The defenseman was called up by Anaheim from the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks (American Hockey League) before the start of the 2003 playoffs, but has yet to appear in a playoff contest for the Ducks.

Four other former Falcons have won Lord Stanley's Cup, including Rob Blake and Greg de Vries in 2001 (Colorado), Ken Morrow from 1980-83 (New York Islanders), and Brian MacClellan in 1989 (Calgary).
