Dennis Williams is in his first season as volunteer assistant coach at Bowling Green State University. Williams, a native of Stratford, Ontario, played in 117 games at BGSU from 1997-2001. The right-winger had 12-8--20 in his four years and helped the Falcons to the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Semifinals his senior season. Williams was a recipient of the Howard Brown Coach’s Award his senior year while earning All-CCHA Academic Honorable Mention his last three seasons with the Falcons. He was a Canadian Rhode Scholarship nominee in 2000-2001.

He played one season of professional hockey in the Central Hockey League with the Odessa Jackalops, appearing in five games.

Williams earned his bachelors of science degree in sport management in the summer of 2001, graduating cum laude. He is currently enrolled in graduate school at BGSU.

As a senior in 2000-2001

  • Played in 37 games...had two goals and three assists with 64 PIM...netted game-winning goal at Northern Michigan in overtime (March 13) to send the Falcons to the CCHA Championships...BGSU lost 2-1 to Michigan State in semifinals...named to the CCHA All-Academic Special Mention team for third year in a row.

  • Played in 30 games...had two-game goal-scoring streak (2-0--2) Oct. 29-30...scored the first goal of the game against Union (short-handed)...recorded his only assist of the season Jan. 22 vs. Alabama-Huntsville...named to the CCHA All-Academic Special Mention team.

  • Played in 33 games, missing four games due to injury (BG went 0-3-1)...did not dress for series finale at Northern Michigan (Nov. 7)...scored the first goal of the season (Oct. 9 at Miami)...recorded his second goal Nov. 27, also against the RedHawks...scored game-tying goal vs. Ferris State on Jan. 23...CCHA Special Mention All-Academic honoree.

    As a freshman in 1997-98

  • Played in the Falcons first 10 games before having to miss the Nov. 15 game versus Ohio State because of a game disqualification penalty...played two games before being injured at Alaska Fairbanks...scored the lone goal in BG’s 1-0 victory at Michigan State on Dec. 7...was injured at home over the holidays and missed the next 17 games...came back to record a point in the last three games of the season.
