As a junior in 1999-2000
Made first start of the year Dec. 29 at RPI...had a career-high 46 saves in 5-4 OT win over Union...was 4-1-1 in his last six decisions...stopped 42 of 44 shots at UNO (Feb. 4-5)...made 30 saves in 1-1 OT tie against Notre Dame (Feb. 19).
As a sophomore in 1998-99
Made six starts, including the first three games of the season...recorded lone victory in season opener at Miami (Oct. 9) stopping 14 of 16 shots...earned a tie the following night at Miami stopping 17 of 22 shots in a 5-5 (OT) decision...made a season-high 26 stops in a 4-2 loss to Northeastern (Oct. 16).
As a freshman in 1997-98
Captured two team awards at the conclusion of the season (Most Improved Player and Best Defensive Player)...recorded a 2-3-1 record with a 2.64 goals-against average and a .899 save percentage in his first seven appearances...four of his 15 losses were in overtime contests...earned his first collegiate shutout with a 42-save performance at Michigan State on Dec. 7, which snapped a nine-game BG winless streak (0-8-1)...earned CCHA Defensive Player of the Week honors following the Dec. 6-7 weekend...was honored by the CCHA following the Feb. 6-7 when he allowed three goals in two road games (1-1 OT tie at Notre Dame and 3-2 win at Western Michigan)...was an honorable mention Bauer/CCHA All-Rookie team honoree...stopped 13 of 14 shots in his collegiate debut (third period against Clarkson on Oct. 25)...participated in the 1998 USA Hockey Summer Challenge as one of three goalies for the U.S. Team West...Michigan State netminder Joe Blackburn was on Team West along with Notre Dame’s Dan Carlson, Lake Superior’s Mike Vigilante and former Miami RedHawk Alex Kim...recorded a 4-1 win over Switzerland in the bronze medal game.
