Falcons Sit 10th After Day One of MAC Championships

Westerville, Ohio - Despite shooting just three shots worse than its first-round performance, the Bowling Green men's golf team slipped from a tie for sixth place after round one (293), into 10th place after round two (296) of the Mid-American Conference Championships. The three-day, 72-hole tournament began today at the Medallion Club in Westerville, Ohio.

The Falcons sit in 10th place with a 36-hole score of 589, just one shot back of Miami, two shots back of Marshall, and three shots back of Akron. Kent State leads the tournament with a score of 556 (271-285).

Junior Chris Leake leads the Falcons with a 36-hole score of 143 (70-73) and is tied for 11th place. One shot back is junior Tommy Lopez (72-72) who is tied for 15th place.

Junior Heath Ziglar is T-35th with a score of 149 (73-76), junior Dan McIntyre is 48th with a score of 154 (79-75), and senior Craig Pickerel is 50th with a score of 157 (78-79).

Day two of the tournament is set for Friday while the final day is slated for Saturday.
