Falcons Finish 16th at USF Invitational

TAMPA, Fla. - Complete Results
The Bowling Green State University men's golf kicked off their spring campaign this weekend, finishing 16th at the USF Invitational, hosted by the University of South Florida. As a team the Falcons shot a 54-hole score of 919 (309-313-297). On day one the Falcons shot a 309 and were led by freshman Andrew Ladwig's 72, which included a 3-under 33. The second day was played in a constant rain as the scores increased for nearly every team. The Falcons shot 313, four strokes worst then on day one, while being led by Ladwig and Jace Walker, both carding 78's. The Orange and Brown saved their best for last as they fired a 297, with all five Falcons either matching, or lowering their tournament-best on the final day. Ladwig's 72 combined with Walker's 73 were the highlights of the day. Overall Ladwig finished tied for 20th with a 222 (72-78-72), a career-best for the freshman. The Falcons were then led by Walker (75-78-72--226, T-35th), Trevor Spathelf (77-79-77--233, T-65th), Matt Schneider (85-78-75--238, T-79th) and Russell Goodwin (87-79-77--243, T-82nd).
Up next for the Falcons is the EKU Invitational, scheduled for the end of March (30-31). Final Standings |
