BGSU Baseball to Host Summer Camp
June 9, 2005 Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University baseball coaching staff will host two sessions of its annual summer camp, June 20-22 and June 27-29, at Warren Steller Field. The first session (June 20-22) will be a hitting camp for ages 6-18, while the second camp (June 27-29) will be a fundamentals/pitching/catching camp. Age groups will be broken up into 6-13 and 14-18 brackets. Each session will run from 9 a.m. to 12 noon daily, with first-day registration slated for 8:30 a.m. for each camp. Three Falcons were selected in this week's Major League Amateur Draft, the first time that has happened since 1998. BGSU also advanced to this year's Mid-American Conference Tournament and finished the year with a 33-18 record. BGSU head baseball coach Danny Schmitz, who has coached the Falcons for 15 seasons, and his staff will conduct the camp. The cost of each session is $90.00 per player, but those who wish to participate in both sessions receive a $30 discount ($150.00 both sessions).
