BGSU To Hold Seventh Annual Winter Baseball Camp

Dec. 3, 1999

Bowling Green, Ohio - Youths age 7-18 wishing to attend the Bowling Green State University baseball program's seventh annual Winter Camp being held at the Charles E. Perry Field House (located across the street from Warren E. Steller Field) on Mercer Road should call the Falcon Baseball Office at (419) 372-7065 for a camp brochure.

Falcon head coach Danny Schmitz and his staff will conduct the camp which runs from Monday, Dec. 27 through Wednesday, Dec. 29. Former Falcon standouts Bob Niemet (San Francisco Giants organization) and Jeff Hundley (Anaheim Angels organization), as well as players from BGSU's 2000 team, will again help in the camp instruction.

For youths age 7-13 (fundamentals camp), sessions begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at noon each day. Sessions start at 1 p.m. and run through 4 p.m. for the 14-18 age group (specialty camp). Players are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of the first day of their specific camp for check-in purposes.

Players will have use of the 70-yard indoor turf room, four full-length batting cages, pitching machines, portable mounds, and much more.

The cost of each clinic runs $80 per player. The registration price includes a camp T-shirt. There is limited space available for each age group, so early sign-up is recommended.
