Falcon Baseball Tops CW Post 13-9

Bowling Green's baseball team improved its record to 7-2 with a 13-9 victory over CW Post Thursday in Homestead, Florida. The game was part of the Homestead Challenge during the Falcons' spring trip.

BGSU started early by scoring nine runs in the second inning. Freshman Kyle Knoblauch (Blissfield, MI) was red-hot pitching, working six innings, allowing just one earned run on seven hits and striking out a team season-high 12 batters.

CW Post started to slowly work on their defecit, scoring all nine of their runs in the last half of the game, including six in the eighth inning.

For the Falcons, junior Len Elias (Mississauga, Ontario) went 2-2 with a double, a run scored and an RBI, while classmate Tim Newell (Bryan, OH) and senior Aric Christman (Leipsic, OH) knocked in two runs apiece.

The Falcons return to action Friday evening at the Homestead Challenge. BGSU will square off against Bradley, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
