Made all his 22 of his starts behind the plate...threw out 47% (7-15) of opposing base stealers...drove in a season-high three runs on May 2 at Miami...had a five-game hitting streak from May 2-19 going five for 12 (.417) with four RBI and two doubles...tied-for-second on the team with six sacrifice hits..had two multiple-hit games (April 24 vs. Ohio University and March 22 at Minnesota)...recorded his first collegiate stolen base March 8 vs. St. Peter’s...tied for the team lead with six hit by pitches.
As a sophomore
Produced two two-hit games (April 8 vs. Northern Illinois and April 12 vs. Kent)...drove in two runs in the NIU game...first hit of the year was a HR at Eastern Kentucky (February 28).

Made all of his starting assignments as a catcher...collected his lone hit of the year, a double against Indiana (March 23)...also scored his only run of the year versus the Hoosiers.

Attended Edison High (’96) where he played four years on the varsity as a catcher for coach Mark Matula, a BGSU graduate...a First-Team All-Sandusky Bay Conference pick his last three years with the Chargers...an all-district first-team selection as a senior...also named to the Lorain Journal All-Star team...won his team’s Hustle Award in 1995 and 1996... helped club make districts all four years, including the championship game as a freshman and senior...hit .330 as a junior and .350 as a senior (20 RBI, 1 HR, 30 H)...also lettered his last three years at EHS in football (defensive back as a sophomore and junior, quarterback as a senior)...captained both his senior football and baseball squads...an academic all-conference pick in both of his prep sports.
