Track and Field Competes at Historic Penn Relays

Philadelphia, Penn. - The Boston College track and field team competed at the historic 112th Penn Relays, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania over the weekend.

The men's distance medley relay team ran the race in nine minutes, 57.02. Freshman James LaGreca ran the first leg, covering 1,200 meters in 3:03.80, while sophomore Patrick Mellea anchored the relay running the final 1,600 meters in 4:07.00. The team finished fourth in their heat and 14th overall.

The men's squad also fielded a sprint medley relay team that finished second in their heat. The team consisted of runners Christopher Caulfield, Ryan Henry, Daniel LaFave and Brenton Wheatley.

On the women's side, Alexis Lake and Anne Hessberg competed in the women's steeplechase. Hessberg finished in 10:53.93, while Lake crossed the line in 10:53.99.
