WACO, Texas - Baylor women's tennis hits the road for the seventh time this season as they take on Tulane on Wed., March 17 at 2.p.m. in New Orleans.

The Bears, 5-7 on the season, will face a Tulane squad that is 12-1 on the season and ranked No. 17 in the most recent ITA national rankings. Baylor dropped six spots in the poll, checking in at No. 41 in the list released today. Tulane will be Baylor's sixth, top 20 team this season.

Tulane is led by freshman Darya Ivanov who is currently ranked No. 65. Baylor's top player, also a freshman, is Carolin Walter. Walter, a native of Bingen, Germany, is currently ranked No. 38 and sports a record of 17-7. Walter and three other Baylor players, junior Daria Potapova and freshmen Iva Mihaylova and Klara Zrustova, each have three-match winning streaks going. In addition, playing at No. 2 doubles, Daniela Covello and Zrustova have won three straight matches.

Following the Tulane match, the Bears will travel to Lubbock, Texas, to take on Texas Tech on March 21 at 11 a.m. Baylor is currently 2-1 in Big 12 action, defeating Nebraska (5-2) and Missouri (5-2) and losing at Texas (7-0).
