WACO, Texas - Baylor post Sophia Young was named to the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball All-Tournament team at the conclusion of the tournament on Saturday evening in Dallas.

Young, a 6-1 sophomore from St. Vincent, West Indies, averaged 24.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game in Baylor's three Big 12 Tournament games. She led the Lady Bears in scoring in two games and in rebounding in all three contests. Young led the team in both scoring and rebounding in Baylor's win over tenth-ranked Texas Tech (80-72) and loss to second-ranked Texas (63-59). Against the Lady Raiders she scored 26 points and hauled down 12 rebounds and poured in a career-high 30 points and tallied nine rebounds against the Longhorns. In Baylor's first round tournament victory over Kansas (86-71), Young grabbed 10 rebounds and contributed 18 points. Her 24.7 points a game led the tournament and her 10.7 rebounding average ranked second in the tournament.

Young becomes the third Baylor Lady Bear to be named to the Big 12 All-Tournament team. Sheila Lambert and Danielle Crockrom were both honored in 2002 when Baylor played in the championship game against Oklahoma.

Oklahoma's Dionnah Jackson, a junior, was named the tournament's MVP. Also honored were Oklahoma seniors Caton Hill and Maria Villaroel and freshman Tiffany Jackson of Texas.
