WACO, Texas - The Baylor Lady Bears scored 58 points in the paint to claim an 85-62 victory over the Arizona State Sun Devils in second round action of the Women's National Invitation Tournament on Sunday in the Ferrell Center.

With the victory Baylor is now 22-10 on the season while Arizona State drops to 16-14. Baylor has been selected to host a quarterfinal WNIT game at 7 p.m. on Wed., March 26. The Lady Bears will host the winner of the Fresno State/Oregon State game, which will be played on Monday night in Fresno's Selland Arena.

Sophomore post Steffanie Blackmon led all scorers and rebounders with a 23-point, 9-rebound performance, it was her 15th, 20-point effort of the season. Freshman Sophia Young added 19 points and 8 rebounds and junior Dionne Brown completed the Lady Bears' double digit scoring with 12 points.

Baylor's smothering defense forced 21 Arizona State turnovers, which the Lady Bears converted into 31 points. Baylor also controlled the boards, outrebounding the Sun Devils 37-25.

Iman Young came off the bench to lead the Sun Devils with 17 points. Kristen Kovesdy added 12 and Jill Noe scored 11.
