Men's Golf in Ninth at Turtle Bay Resort

KAHUKU, O'ahu - The Baylor men's golf team shot a season-best 274 in the first round of the Turtle Bay Resort Intercollegiate. The Bears sit in ninth place at 14-under par after 18 holes. Tennessee holds the tournament lead at 24-under par, while Robin Wingardh of Tennessee is the top individual after a first-round 63 to finish at 9-under par. Cody Paladino leads the way for Baylor with a career-low round of 67, including a 4-under par 32 on the front nine, to tie for 16th place overall. Colton Williams, Wes Williams and Jeff Gerlich are all tied for 31st at 3-under par in the first round. Bill Allcorn shot 73 to finish in a tie for 87th at 1-over par. Allcorn shot 35 on the front nine before carding a 38 on the back nine. All but one of the 21 participating teams finished at even-par or better. Ten teams carded scores of at least 10-under par. Baylor returns to action on Tuesday with the second round of the Turtle Bay Resort Intercollegiate. 9 Baylor 274 -14
