Alcorn Named Big 12 Golfer of the Month
April 6, 2005 WACO, Texas - Baylor sophomore Jeremy Alcorn (Brownwood, Texas) was named Big 12 Golfer of the Month for March, his second conference honor of the season, the league office announced Wednesday. Alcorn was also named golfer of the month for October. Alcorn recorded two victories, a second-place finish and finished in the top 20 for the eighth straight tournament during four March events. He has also fired sub-70 scores in four of his last six rounds and currently ranks second in the Big 12 with a 71.07 scoring average for the year - 70.50 in the spring. Alcorn opened the month with a win at the UTSA Roadrunner Intercollegiate, where he shot a 210. He then tied for 17th at the Hyatt Plantation Club Intercollegiate with a 218. Alcorn fired a 7-under par 209 to place second by a single stroke at the Lexus Naples Invitational, before claiming his third individual title of the season at the Border Olympics with another 209. The Bears return to action at the Aggie Invitational April 16-17 at the Traditions Golf Club in Bryan, Texas.
