WACO, Texas - Baylor's men's golf team will play its fifth tournament of the spring season at the 52nd overall Border Olympics on Friday-Saturday, April 4-5, at the Laredo Country Club.

The tournament includes a competitive 20-team field that includes Alabama Birmingham, Arkansas, Baylor, BYU, Colorado State, Iowa State, Kansas State, Lamar, Louisiana-Lafayette, Notre Dame, Rhode Island, San Diego State, SMU, Southwest Texas, Texas-Arlington, Texas Tech, Texas-San Antonio, Rice, Washington State and host Texas A&M.

Arkansas, Baylor, BYU, Colorado State, Lamar, San Diego State and SMU are each currently ranked in the top-50 according to golfstat.com

The format of the Invitational consists of 54 holes beginning with two rounds of 18 beginning Friday at 8 a.m. The third and final round will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The Laredo Country Club golf course is a 7,125-yard, par 72 course situated in south Texas.

The 47th ranked Bears will send sophomore Ryan Baca, juniors Austin Burk and Will Doughtie, senior Trevar Matheson and freshman Will McDonald.

Baca currently leads the team and is second in the Big 12 with a 71.44 stroke average through 10 rounds in the spring.

The Bears hope to continue their past success in Laredo. The team has won the invitational four of the previous five years including last spring.
