The Baylor men's golf team, which is now rated fourth in the country by Golfstat and 11th by Golfweek, will look to defend its title at the Border Olympics Friday and Saturday at the 7,241-yard, par-72 Laredo Country Club in Laredo, Texas.

Junior Jeremy Alcorn will also be defending his individual title and seeks a second straight victory after winning the Louisiana Classics last week. Alcorn fired a 209 to win the event last year by one stroke over teammate Chase Thomas. The Bears ran away with the team title, firing a 54-hole total of 852 to win by 22 strokes. Junior Colton Turnquist, who will be making his second start of the season, tied for 10th last year, while Junior Jeremy Frye tied for 26th. Senior Ryan Baca has never finished outside the top 10 at the Border Olympics, tying for second in 2003 and 2004 and tying for eighth as a freshman.

Last time out, Baylor fell one stroke short of their third straight team victory and fourth win of the season at the Louisiana Classics in Lafayette, La. The Bears will get a chance to avenge that loss this weekend against the host University of Houston.

The Bears will also send Brian Meck, Chase Thomas, Carmine Mediate, Matt Briggs and Bill Allcorn to compete in the Bearkat Classic Friday and Saturday at Raven Nest Golf Club in Huntsville, Texas. Following the tournament, Baylor will have two weeks off before returning to action at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate April 3-4 at Austin Country Club in Austin, Texas.
