Worth Williams leads the 2001 Big 12 Championship after two rounds.

Hutchinson, Kansas - Senior Worth Williams opened with two rounds of 72 and currently leads the 2001 Big 12 Championship at Prairie Dunes Country Club. The Bears are also currently leading in the team standings after a two-round total of 606 (310-296).

Rounding out the top five were tournament-favorite Texas (314-295=609), Colorado (316-298=614), Oklahoma (311-305=616), and Oklahoma State (311-309=620).

Williams is five strokes ahead of Oklahoma State's Par Nilsson heading into Tuesday's final round. Along with Williams (72-72=144), senior Jimmy Walker (80-71=151) also faired well after two rounds. He fired a one-over 71 in the second round to finish the day tied for third.

Senior Brandon Sanders (78-77=155) finished tied for 13th after carding a 77 in the second round. Freshman Jon Antunes (80-76=156) is currently tied for 17th and freshman Adam Meyer (86-78=164) is tied for 47th.

The Bears will look to win its first Big 12 title Tuesday. The final 18 holes will be played at Prairie Dunes Country Club (6598 Yards, Par 70) beginning at 8 a.m.
