Men's Golf Finishes Tied For Third At Border Olympics

Senior Jimmy Walker led the Bears to a third place finish at the Border Olympics.

Laredo, Texas - Senior Jimmy Walker shot a final round 68 to earn 11th place and the Bears finished tied for third at the Border Olympics. Baylor (874) shot an impressive final round 282 to move into a third place tie with Texas A&M (874).

New Mexico (855) won the tournament followed by Texas (860), Baylor, Texas A&M, and Southern Methodist (876).

Walker led the Bears with a 217 and an 11th place finish. Senior Brandon Sanders (219) fired a 71 in the final round to finish tied for 15th. Freshman Jon Antunes (221) carded a 75 in the final round to finish tied for 24th.

Freshman Adam Meyer (223) shot a 1-under 71 in the final round to finish tied for 30th. Senior Worth Williams (226) fired an even par third round to finish tied for 49th. Freshman Will Doughtie's 76 in the final round gave him a 227 and tied him for 54th place. Rounding out the scoring for Baylor was sophomore Trevar Matheson (228) who finished tied for 58th after his even par final round.

The Baylor men's golf team has now finished in the top five in seven of their last eight tournaments. Of these seven tournament finishes, five have been in the top three.

Baylor will return to action Monday, April 9, when it plays in the Belmont Invitational in Franklin, Tennessee.
