Men's Golf Tied for Ninth After Two Rounds In Laredo

Laredo, Texas - Freshman Jon Antunes fired a 144 and is tied for 17th place and the Baylor men's golf team is currently tied for ninth place after the first two rounds of the Border Olympics, hosted by Texas A&M. Baylor shot a 592 (294-298) and finished the day tied with Texas Tech for ninth place. New Mexico leads the tournament with a 571. Rounding out the top five were Texas (577), Texas A&M (582), Texas-Arlington (585), and Southern Methodist (586). Antunes opened the tournament with a 71 and then shot a 75 to finish the day tied for 17th. Senior Brandon Sanders fired two rounds of 74 to finish tied for 25th. Senior Jimmy Walker carded a 149 (75-74) to finish tied for 31st. Freshman Will Doughtie (74-77) is currently tied for 45th after shooting a 151 (74-77). Freshman Adam Meyer finished one stroke behind Doughtie (75-77) and finished tied for 51st. Senior Worth Williams finished tied for 65th after shooting a 79 and 75. Sophomore Trevar Matheson, entered as an individual in the tournament, carded an 81 and 75 to finish tied for 73rd.
The final round will begin at 8:00 a.m. (CST) Saturday at Laredo Country Club.
